Hi IA support and users,
can anybody tell me if it is possible to convert the IA generated localizeable strings (automatically) to a .po file that is required by the Pootle translation toolkit?
I can not paste in every string manually, including the already existing translations.
I would like to use Pootle as setup string database cause it automates a lot steps in translation process.

Hi,
We are unfortunately unfamiliar with Pottle - what is it exactly?

"Pootle is an online translation management tool with translation interface. [...] Its main focus is on localization of applications' graphical user interfaces as opposed to document translation."

I want to use it as a text ressources database, but atm it is almost not possible to convert the IA files to po-files.
Would be great if IA could offer a tool to convert the translation tables into .po files to make localisation process much more comfortable.

An XML-Export of the IA generated localizeable strings would also be helpful. Is there a change that IA will implement such a function?
If I have the strings in an xml-file I would also be able to convert it into a po-file.

Hi alibaba,
I do not really know if that can be implemented.
Anyway I will forward it to the project team and of course it will have a look at your request.
I can't promise nothing.

Re: convert IA generated strings to po file for pottle
Thank you anyway Francesco!
It would also be helpful if any string would get a explicit identifier in ONE file for each language like:
dialog.licensetext.back=Zurück
An xml-file would automate the import process to our company localization string database.
We use pootle (and the translation manager for IA) as I mentioned in first post, this is a well known gpl translation toolkit.
