MSI Command Line Options

Postby hess_joel » Tue Jan 29, 2008 11:38 am

I've used the Group Policy wizard to convert an install into an MSI, and now I need to be able to pass command line options through to the installer.

I've set up the command line parsing from the install executable, but don't know how to specify an option for MSIExec.

PS, I'm also looking for some info on how to specify multiple command line options for the installer too.

The command line arguments should be passed during GPW. Once it is an MSI file, msiexec will only accept parameters that are compatible with windows installer.

I have an option though that would be dynamic. At one point in the install, the user has to specify a server name. Is there any way for the user to pass that through from the MSI?
