Determine MS SQL default Database Location

Postby DanielW » Fri Mar 23, 2007 4:50 pm

I have created a database script to create an SQL database, but have no way to program the MS SQL default database location. Is there a variable that will identify the path to the mdf and log files? If I hard code it in, a database will be created.
When using the "Destination" dialog to browse to the local and network folders, the proper drive letter for the SQL server database files is not shown, ie. when I browse, the window shows the G-drive(mapped from local computer) letter for location, while in fact it is the D-drive if you are at the server location. If I execute the path to the g-drive no database is created. If I change to drive to the d-drive the database is created.

Thanks
DanielW
