Re: InstallAware Multi Platfrom /Linux - unwanted console output
No longer required, apparently the concern was whether the INI was being cached or not somewhere along the way (ex: by your ISP). Could you try again now please, if you haven't already manually updated to the latest release? For the record, the INI file contains all your update settings, and is full...

Could you download www.installaware.com/iamp/updates.ini with your favorite browser on the affected device and attach it herewith please?

Re: What directories are touched during installation
What you've provided is actually a perfect description of buggy anti-virus behavior - inconsistent execution being a tell-tale sign of the same. We really do ask for your kind understanding that we cannot work around random issues in poorly written third party software. The only anti-virus vendor we...

Re: Microsoft Intune Support
This is a common misconception (that Install Aware doesn't build a true native MSI package). It does. Install Aware 's own setup engine (the .EXE file) bootstraps this pure MSI , extending Windows Installer's default behavior by removing the straitjacket it normally comes bundled with ;) This setup ...

Re: Installing InstallAware X8 Studio Edition in AWS EC2 Instance
Sounds like EC2 supports both Windows and Linux instances, so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get InstallAware (Multi Platform) up there?

Re: Conditional Build Events possible in the Project Options/Settings?
Interesting discovery.
What were you able to find out about spaces and the quotes that you might be able to potentially share?
Basically was there any divergence from the standard pattern of double quoting any parameters with spaces in them?

Re: Runtime error in setup script
Your scripts are flattened at build-time. You could deduce the exact script where the error occurs by manually simulating a "flattening" of your scripts (just pasting all includes into a single monolithic script) and then locating the offending line number in that merged single script (thu...

Re: Command Line Build NOT Building with Elevated UAC (requireAdministrator)
This topic applies to Install Aware Multi Platform as well. Interesting thread here. The launch-time elevation setting of your setup is actually stored inside a compiler variable, aptly named #UAC# : http://www.installaware.com/mh52/desktop/predefinedcompilervariables.htm While the variable doesn't ...

Re: Click action for AeroPngImage
It seems to me you mean TImage when you're writing about TPicture above? Have you considered TAeroPNGButton - would it fulfill your requirements, maybe except for runtime image loading? +1 on the Object Inspector - but it may help to know that you can tab through controls without having to move them...

Re: Getting filename of the setup file itself
This topic applies to Install Aware Multi Platform as well. Are you reporting a bug with some of the pre-defined variables at play here: http://www.installaware.com/mh52/desktop/predefinedvariables.htm $SETUPPATH$ is really the most top-level variable at play. But if $SFXFILE$ and/or $SFXPATH$ are c...

Re: Context Menu Bridge
You're missing the point. The Context Menu Bridge is a Bridge . It is not designed to be a way for you to create brand-new context menus for Windows 11. There's already plenty of (open source) projects which already do that very well, I'm sure you can find them quickly online. The goal is for existi...

Re: How to handle Control Service start errors
There's been advanced service commands available in InstallAware for quite some time now, transcending the limitations of what is built-in to Windows Installer:

Re: Obtaining the Product Code at setup runtime for an MSI created using pgplwiz.exe
You're doing it the proper way.
You could also take this all the way out to the main container folder of the Group Policy MSI wrapper, through the GPOPATH and SETUPPATH pre-defined script variables:
