Re: Entry point ... couldn't be located in user32.dll.

It doesn't work with a fresh installation project! I got the same problem when I ran my application that was installed from new-created installation project. It is weird! It did make the setup file on IA12 from a vista machine, but it couldn't run on win 7! The old version IA9 and IA 10 don't have t...

Re: Entry point ... couldn't be located in user32.dll.

Hi, Giaviv, I did try to install the same setup file on a different win 7 system. It seemed that both win 7 systems have the same problem. I am not sure if I sure create a new project to make the install file from scratch instead of upgrading from the one I built in IA9. I will give a try. It seems ...

Re: Entry point ... couldn't be located in user32.dll.

Hi, Giaviv, What are 3rd part plug-ins? The project was upgraded from my previous IA9, IA10 project. It seems ok when I built and installed on a vista machine. When I install it on win 7 machine, the install was ok and I got the error when I ran it. This same application can be built with IA10 on vi...

Entry point ... couldn't be located in user32.dll.

Hi, I just upgraded my IA to version 12. It seems I have a problem to install my app on win 7. The installaware project is the same as I had with IA10. The installation is ok, but when I run my app in win 7, an error message saying "The procedure entry point DwmHintDxUpdate could not be located...

Re: Issues with admin privs/Run as Administrator

Hi, Aviv, I think Run Program As is nor for my application. It seems that it is for applications that need to run extra external executable files. Mine is very simple: to install my application to client machine on c:\program files\my application folder. And my executable file needs to have full acc...

Re: UAC Elevation Clarification

Hi, Steve, I am not sure if you really understand my problem now. Let me try to get my problem straight: my application needs to be installed on clients' computers, ideally to the default folder c:\program files\my application folder. The executable file EXE needs to write some files (say text.txt f...

Re: UAC Elevation Clarification

How do you load this "Run Program As" window to tick off the "Run under limited user account when UAC is enabled and setup is elevated (de-elevation)" checkbox? I couldn't find out anywhere to load this window.

Re: Issues with admin privs/Run as Administrator

Hi, I think there must be something fundamentally wrong on my side! I just upgraded my express version 10 to studio version 11 hoping I can fix this problem, but I am wrong. It doesn't fix it at all! I am anxious to get my installation package made for my client, but it keeps saying that the access ...

Re: Issues with admin privs/Run as Administrator

It is bad that my express version doesn't have that elevation option. I think I have to upgrade my version soon. I just checked my project, it seems that all my files (include all files FROM system32 folder) will be installed into one target folder that is under the program files folder on the targe...

Re: Issues with admin privs/Run as Administrator

I am sorry I don't quite understand it. I have my files installed to the system32. Some files are installed to system folder that might be what you talked about. Some files are put into the program files folder that might need elevation too. But I did try to put my files into a separate folder calle...

Re: Issues with admin privs/Run as Administrator

H, Giaviv,

Sorry for replying so late!

My project is pretty big. It is over 100M with all files inside. When you say project, do you refer to only mpr file or all files?

Thanks?

Re: Issues with admin privs/Run as Administrator

Hi, Aviv,

I don't think I can load Summary and UAC. I did click on it, nothing happened. My IA10 is an express version. I am not sure if the express version has the option of opening it.

Gene.

Re: Issues with admin privs/Run as Administrator

Hi, My problem might be different from yours. I have IA10 express. I use all default settings to build my install package. The install target dir is c:\program files\myappfolder. My application works on xp but not on vista and win7. On vista and win 7, I have to right click my application and click ...

Re: Build on win7 doesn't work on XP.

Hi, The setup file can run on XP machine and get the application installed. When I run the application, it pops up "ApplicationName has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Something saying "Please tell Microsoft about this problem" and &...
