Logo Program W2008 R2

Hi there, I'm applying to Logo Program W2008 R2 and one of the requirements is " TC2.11.1 - The intended behavior of each custom action must be documented ". After understanding the specifications of this required documentation, I opened my IA9 generated MSI file with ORCA to see the conte...

Re: Uninstall in VISTA Error

I'm working with Windows 7 64-bit and having this problem with one of my installers as well - all the others work fine. All of them were created under IA9. I have already tried to follow every one of the steps described above, but I still keep on getting the error message. Any other tips on solving ...

Re: Installer hangs after Apply Install

Hey, ElenaN! Thanks for the reply!

I have actually solved my problem by using Install/Remove MSI Package instead of Apply Uninstall.
I'm still not sure about any hidden setbacks, though... just in case, your suggestion might be very useful if things go awry.

Thank you very much!

Re: Installer hangs after Apply Install

I'm having the same problem with "Apply Uninstall". I have tried to log what Windows Installer is doing, and I've got exactly the same log file that andrejzr posted above, ending with the <myah> tag. I'm using IA 9 (Build Moya.sp1.070409), but I don't have any PAR file under my AppData fol...

Re: NULL as parameter for a dll function call

Hi, Roostar2004. Not really. I'm avoiding at all costs this kind of API with complex parameters in MSICode. When I really have to, I write an external application to do the dirty work. I was hoping someone from IA team would shed some light on this topic, but still we haven't got a reply. I am sorry...

Changing the Setup Temp Folder?

Hi there, Since we started distributing our product as a Single File Executable we have received quite a few complaints from our customers reporting disk space issues while using our IA9-generated installer. Our product's installer size is about 400MB and the disk consumption peak for such installer...

Re: NULL as parameter for a dll function call

Hi there. I'm using the Call DLL function to execute the CreateFile Windows API function (from Kernel32.dll) to retrieve the HANDLE for a specific file. MSDN documentation (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa363858%28v=VS.85%29.aspx) says I have to pass 7 parameters: __in LPCTSTR lpFileName, ...

Hi, Candice! I have already tried Get Exact OS or SP Level , but it just returns "XP", not "XPHome" or "XPPro", so it won't help much in my case... :( By the way, just got a reply from Michael in other topic ( http://www.installaware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=19484#194...

Sorry for that, Michael and thanks for your answer in the other topic ( http://www.installaware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=19484#19484 ). Perhaps it may provide a clue or insight to people who are trying to detect Windows Server 2008 R2 and other Windows sub-versions, too? Thank you so very much!
