Re: List of fixes in IA9 R2 SP3

Thank you, Michael for the info! 1000 thanks for the "Override the InstallAware web download timeout value altogether, or specify a custom timeout - through the new pre-defined variable $MYAH_TIMEOUT$"!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cool that "The If statement has been fixed to work correctly with the ...

Re: List of fixes in IA9 R2 SP3

Hi!

I would like to know the status of fix list.
Is it worthwhile to update all build machines. How many critical bugs were fixed, or any other improvements.
Any info would be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Relative paths to files

Hold on a sec. First of all, it should work, because we used it in this way :). I guess it will be a relaxing word :). Let's go from the start: #PROJDIR# should point to the upper parent folder for all projects, including IA and the folder where your BIN located. I guess it should be (as an example)...

Re: Relative paths to files

I guess yeah.

for the miabuild, just use: miabuild <Project-Name>\<IA>\Project.mpr

inside your project, just use:
#PROJDIR#\bin\AIGDataProvider.exe

where #PROJDIR# is the path to <PROJECT-NAME>

Hope this helps!

Re: Strange "set viariable" behaviour

Agree with you (about strange way the translation implemented), that's why I used LOCMODE=VARSONLY (see help for ScriptReference -> Pre-Defined Compiler Variables for more info). In this case only special Localized variables get translated. Set Variable command does not affected. Pretty useful mode....

Re: Customizing Output .EXE name...

Actually, we use version number inside output EXE file name. Just type the compiler variable name inside "Output filename" text field as shown in the screenshot (surrounded with #, that's to specify compiler variable), when building your project with miabuild don't forget to specify that c...

Re: Strange "set viariable" behaviour

Do you use localizations for your project? The problem could be there if you forgotten to update the translated value (inside Translator tool). Specifying the value second time and having correct behavior makes sense, because new value (before sending files into Translator tool) has it's own virgin ...

Re: Relative paths to files

Don't use "\..\" and you'll be fine. As a #PROJDIR# select the upper parent folder for all off your projects. In your case, i guess, it's 2 level up.

Hope this helps.

Re: Framework 4.0 Install

Is there a way I can get an offline version of this Hotfix?
We have build machines which does not have Internet connections.

Correct me if I'm wrong, the problem is inside Runtimes scripts that ships with IA R2 only??

Re: Framework 4.0 Install

Michael,

Are these updates (with GUIDs and MSXML) inside R2 release, or should we copy provided update for MSXML on top of R2???
I'm not sure that we have problems with GUIDs, does this behavior sporadic?

Re: InstallAware modifies ReceiveTimeout (and other) setting

Hi Michael, You are absolutely wright about the hooks that AV is doing. I'm not sure that it's a bug in it's checking, however. I'm not saying that it's some kind of IA bug, no. Please, forgive me if it was sounded like that. All I ask is that if it will be possible to implement a custom timeout set...

Re: InstallAware modifies ReceiveTimeout (and other) setting

Hi to all IA community! As we have a new R2 release with restoring the Receive Timeout value the problem is still persist. I'll try to explain what i mean. One of our clients uses a NOD32 antivirus program (in general, i think that it doesn't matter what Antivirus software is installed, they all com...

Re: Undo and version control

And what about 2-nd request? imo, it is much more important than just undo? I mean the readable human format (XML would be best of all), with the availability to perform team development but not just the solo development. Current file format does not allow you to perform a "merge" (usually...

Re: Unicode translations

MichaelM, i'm totally agree with you!

The least OS version that we support is WinXP. So we does not need support for Win 95 at all. But the problems that we have because of the lack of Unicode support is the worst part.

I really hope for the Unicode support in future versions.
