Re: Relative Path in Install Files

Hi, The feature was not removed and is still usable. The above error was probably caused due to misuse of the feature. Does it also work for INI files? I want to install ini file on target computer. So I added the file to "Setup Architecture|Files", then imported existing ini file in &quo...

Please use absolute paths instead - are you able to do so?

Hello,
What happened to "relative path" feature? AFAIR it was introduced in ver. 10. Did you decide to remove this feature or it's just a bug?

Re: Change log for IA 10.10

Hey guys, For your reference, I am attaching the "What's New in InstallAware 10.10" section in the help file: Thanks for the list. What do you think about creating subforum called Announcements? IMO it would be good place, to inform about new releases (and Download Page is also very good ...

Re: Change log for IA 10.10

Do you mean "What's new" in the help file? It says only about changes in v. 10, no information about minor version and update. It would be good to know what's changed BEFORE downloading 1.5 GB file :) . Another benefit of change log is ability to recheck if previous bugs concerning me, are...

Release note for IA 10.0.1

Hello,
I've found an update 10.0.1. Is there any release note with list of resolved issues? It would be good to find it on download web page.

Re: Bug in Debug mode - service installation

So, is there no real problem? Was it just a matter of confusion over the interface? You're right, this could be made more clear. We'll see if we can't do something to make this more intuitive. That's right. If this could be clearer: -by using hint or popup when checking "Debug build" -by ...

Re: Bug in Control Service

So, what is your suggestion about how to solve this problem? Is it a bug or expected behavior? If expected, then it seems that using Hybrid Installation Technology requires significant changes in generated code.

Bug in Control Service

Hello, I've found a bug in control service. My simple project file (Native) should install 1 NT service. It should be started, and if application is uninstalled, stopped and deleted. MSI code contains: Install Service C:\BUILDS\ctiRight_BUILD\ctiRight\bin\ctiRight.exe to $TARGETDIR$ as ctiRights Con...

Re: Bug in Debug mode - service installation

Looks like (un)checking "Debug Build" option changes deployment type. Why?? It makes a lot of confusion. User has to be very careful with clicking on build and run buttons. Especially when pressing Run button (It's hard to distinguish) which build (compressed or not) is started. Can you do...

Re: Bug in Debug mode - service installation

The problem is different: After checking Debug Build in Project Settings, build process seems to be terminated. It looks like it stops somewhere near "Injected runtime files" (window is closed automatically) Here's output when "Debug build" is unchecked. Building Project: ctiRigh...

Bug in Debug mode - service installation

Hello,
I've created a simple Native setup project that should install+start Windows service. If run normally, service is installed (with some retry dialogs) but when run in debug mode NT service is not installed.
Project is compiled with debug build checkbox.

Re: Relative paths to files

I found a way to determine parent directory of the script. Something like this:

cd ..
SET MYDIR=%CD%
cd build
miabuild ".\IA\AIG Data Provider.mpr" /b=1 ROOTDIR=%myDir%

Compiler variable ROOTDIR is used only for Services. "Install Files" allows for using #PROJDIR#\..\..

Re: Relative paths to files

You should provide this compiler variable with this value: miabuild.exe C:\Projects\SomeProjectNameFolder\BUILD\IA\SetupProject.mpr PROJDIR=C:\Projects\SomeProjectNameFolder Thanks, I get your point. I didn't think about overriding default value of PROJDIR How did you automate setting for PROJDIR v...
