Re: ASLR / DEP in Installer
Thankfully, the newly created setups are DEP and ASLR enabled, InstallAware and most of its "sub"-programs still are not. InstallAware PESecurity Checks.png Also, neither the wrong version number of the main program nor the missing DPI-awareness of it and the created setups are solved. mi...

A What's new page is here https://www.installaware.com/mh52/desktop/whatsnew.htm.
A real change history seems to be missing.

Re: How to create an .msi file?
To the defense of InstallAware, the answer in the other thread was correct, albeit not complete. You can see it in your own screenshot, only the "Uncompressed directory layout" needs to be selected. It will include the *.msi file. The checkmark is required only if you choose one of the com...

Re: Missing DPI Awareness
Unfortunately not. I tried using manifests as well, with no effect. It's a shame that in 2024 such an expensive software like IA X16 itself and the Setups it creates are DPI unaware and have DEP and ASLR disabled. miae.exe itself is still version 1.0.0. On our systems all main processes of other pro...

Re: Remove pinned application from the task tray using IA x15 w/o uninstall script?
Pinned taskbar icons are Links stored in the hidden folder %AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar.
In your IA script you can use "Delete Files" to delete the link to your program. The option "Delete when Uninstalling" should be checked.

Re: Windows 11 progress broken
I think this should be added to the InstallAware GUI under Power Tweaks, where one has access to most of the Pre-Defined Compiler Variables already.

The web setup of InstallAware X16 is equally flagged as Trojan.

I can confirm this as an example for one of our setups with a size of about 450 MB.

Re: What are the performance and stability regressions for moving to IA 32.40 (X15)
It wouldn't surprise me much, if it isn't much more than a new certificate, because the old one expired at April 20th. What really bothers me is the fact that unter Windows 11 Microsoft Defender SmartScreen, after three weeks since the release of v32.41, still comes up with its security warning abou...

Re: multiple mia*.tmp folders in %programdata% folder
Thank you for investigation this issue. I can confirm this behaviour using Process Explorer. Starting die freshly installed application from the last setup page, even the application exe-file is accessed inside a mia*.tmp folder, in our case including language files also. The command line shows the ...

Re: Get System Setting Windows 8.1 != TRUE on Win 10
In that case I'd reboot the system as the first step.
If this doesn't help I'd recommend to open the console as admin and run sfc /scannow to check for possibly corrupted files.

Re: Get System Setting Windows 8.1 != TRUE on Win 10
I understood what code you were using to obtain CHECKSYSTEM.
But how did you verify which result it holds after that function?
I just tried it on a Windows 10 machine and the result is TRUE.

Re: Get System Setting Windows 8.1 != TRUE on Win 10
Hi,
first of all, for your safety you shouldn't post screenshots, that contain information about devices and IDs.
By what means did you verify that CHECKSYSTEM is not TRUE?
Maybe you could try the check case-insensitive.

Re: ASLR / DEP in Installer
The InstallAware setup and program of build 11.1.2022 still don't fullfil security standards.
