Installation progress text

During the install, the progress text does not display the file path or any other details for example we see messages like this "Registering modules File:[1], Folder:[2] " instead of proper file name and folder path. Screenshots attached. The installation does complete successfully. Is the...

Check and setup msi prereq scripts

Hello,
PreReq check scripts checkmsi**.mia and setupmsi**.mia - when are these needed to be included? If our products claim support for Windows 10 and above only for client OS and Windows 2019 and above for server OS, do we still need to run check and install for msi versions?

Thanks

Re: What directories are touched during installation

Thanks Francesco. Odd thing is, we provided 5 installers (of 5 different products) and 2 of them install successfully in that problematic environment but not the 3 of them. If AV was the culprit, then why only those 3?

Thanks

Re: Compression errors with no changes

Thanks Francesco. I've sent email. The size was too big for the email, so I sent only zipped up project files without any dependent dialogs etc but also uploaded the all the files to onedrive and sent the link in the email.

Thanks

Re: Compression errors with no changes

Any idea what could be causing these compression errors? How would you like me to send the project Francesco?

Thanks

Re: What directories are touched during installation

Hi Francesco, the problem is I am not able to replicate it at all. This problem seem to happen on few of our customers and am not sure what is different about their environment that causes this. They don't seem to have any Antivirus software and they are installing as admin user. So I am not seeing ...

Re: What directories are touched during installation

Hi Francesco, The installer only installs some files to target dir and creates app pools in IIS. The problem is it doesn't seem to extract the full installer into the temp directories. We've confirmed that AV is not running and yet installation fails with attached error. So I was wondering if there ...

Re: What directories are touched during installation

Thanks Francesco. We only use Install on local machine. I am trying to investigate an issue where installers seem to not get copied completely into these temp directories. This seem to happen only in few situations. Do you see any reason this would happen even when AV is not running?

Thanks

What directories are touched during installation

Hi, I am having a problem where the installer doesn't install properly in only some specific customer's VMs. They don't have any AVs turned on, and yet the installer behaves like it is incomplete. I would like to know what are all the directories IA needs access to apart from Target dir? Thanks Mall...

Re: Compression errors with no changes

Sure Francesco. Pls let me know how can I send it? Also it used to not happen, maybe after repeated merges / recompiles it triggered? If I were to manually modify the compression rate to something else, it will work fine. This is the 2nd project this has happened, I wanted to know what triggers this...

Re: Compression errors with no changes

Is the error reproducible on any target? Did you encounter the issue once re-compiled the installer? Which is the compression level defined with project? Do you have any Third Party Anti Virus installed? Yes it is reproducible on any target. It happened after re-compiled the installer (happens with...

Compression errors with no changes

Hi, We started to get this compression error (attached) randomly with absolutely NO change to the installer. Any idea why or how to resolve it?

Thanks
