I noticed the same issue. Try again in a system which does not have 5.0.1 installed but only 5.0.4 or later.
Then the IA script detects that 5.0.1 is missing although 5.0.4 is already installed.

Is your setup localised? You may have a mismatch between the English source and the translations.

You're probably looking in the wrong folder: "C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallAware X2\miabuild.exe"

Have these been created by the plug-in? Are the paths correct for the "delete allowed program" action (i.e. short names versus long names)?

This bug has been fixed. Please download again and install the updated version.

When you install 9.03 it automatically uninstalls any previous version.
After install you will see a traybar icon where you can configure automatic updates.
